Your first CLI command
Read permitted data, interpret the result and understand the file step.
Start with read-only commands. Have an active CLI session ready.
List live tools
era toolsThis provides current input schemas. A tool appearing in the documentation does not mean it is available in every session.
Check the business
era overview --textInspect enabled modules, connections and waiting work. If this is the wrong workspace, correct Desktop’s selection before continuing.
Find demo records
era records find customer --q "Demo" --limit 10Only matches visible to your role are returned. Searching real records is a read; inspect the result and select the correct identity.
Interpret the result
If next, total or truncated appears, the first output is not the whole dataset. Inspect the continuation input in the live schema. Output is compact JSON; use --text for a readable summary.
Save a file
era file save "./demo-report.csv"This writes by uploading to Era Files. The result can include a file ID or a one-time upload command to finish a large file. Do not report it saved before completing the upload. era file get --file-id "FILE_ID" returns a short-lived download URL/command; execute the returned command to download bytes.
When the connection drops
The CLI does not automatically retry. Inspect the record or era turn report --text before repeating a completed write.
