Era for the terminal
Session-scoped commands for business records, files and memory.
Use era to find permitted business records, save files and search memory from a terminal. Era Desktop prepares the command for the active chat engine; the server enforces business permissions and approvals.
An active chat session is required
The CLI uses the chat session instead of a persistent system login. era login, era install and era --version are not current commands.
Install

era overview --text
era records find customer --q "Demo" --limit 10The first three commands provide help, the live tool catalogue and a business overview. The last searches only accessible customers. A name match is not an identity; select the correct record ID before a later operation.
Which interface should I use?
The CLI suits an engine’s terminal. To configure another client with a server connection, use MCP setup. You can ask for the same work in Era chat on the web.
Read the outcome
Default output is compact JSON. --text selects readable output. Success, partial failure and waiting for approval differ; after a connection failure, inspect the record or era turn report before repeating a write.
