How do I install Era Desktop?
Download the installer offered on the download page, install it and open Era. Platform support in code does not mean an installer has been published for every platform. Complete browser device authorization through Sign in with Era, then connect providers separately.
What if my device sign-in code expired?
Request a fresh code and complete browser authorization with it. Then check organization and workspace. Era device pairing is not a Claude or Codex provider sign-in; make the provider card ready separately.
Why does my computer appear offline?
Check that Era Desktop is running, connected and paired to the right account. Closing a window can differ from quitting; inspect tray connection state. A removed device needs pairing again; a device row on the web does not switch the computer on.
Why is Claude/Codex unavailable after signing into Era?
Inspect Settings → AI → My subscriptions and installed CLI status. The provider needs separate sign-in, an eligible account and a working engine. Your Era account provides business access; the provider account supplies AI use.
Why does my local file not open on another device?
A local path may exist only on that computer. Ask “Save the result to Era Files” or use era file save in the session terminal. Use the returned file ID for shared access; name-based lookup can select the newest same-name file.
Where do I enable computer use?
Inspect status and missing OS grants in desktop Settings → Advanced → Computer use. Web Settings → AI → Computer manages task rules; it does not grant operating-system permission. Preview size or cursor color is not access permission.
How do I change desktop text size?
Use base font size, density and chat width in Settings → Personal → Appearance. Terminal font size and font are separate settings. These local preferences do not change organization roles or business time zone.
Is signing out the same as quitting the app?
No. Signing out of this computer removes Era pairing; Quit closes the app. Check whether closing the window leaves it running in the tray. Removing local provider accounts is separate account management.
