How does a skill differ from an agent?
A skill describes how to do a job; an agent is an instructed teammate responsible for a job. Attach a skill to an agent or use it in a workflow. Saving a skill alone does not create a schedule or event trigger.
How do I create my first skill?
Open Skills on web or Agents & tools → Skills on desktop. Write it yourself, create with AI or upload a file; review its name and steps. Choose scope and save, then separately check required app connections.
Can I save a successful chat as a skill?
Ask “Save this method for reuse.” Era can propose a card with name, short description, working steps and evidence. Review it and state required apps and boundaries before treating one successful result as a general procedure.
What are draft and live skill versions?
Versions in the detail view let you keep changes in a draft and evaluate them. Promote makes the chosen version active; promoting an older version provides rollback. Editing and activating are separate steps; inspect the active version.
How do I check a skill before using it?
Enter evaluation cases and expected results in the skill detail view, then inspect outcomes. Passing/failing cases belong to that version and do not guarantee success on every real record. Fix errors, activate the right version and watch run history.
Is pausing different from deleting a skill?
Yes. Pause / Resume in details manages use; deletion requires a separate confirmation. Asking Era to stop using an old remembered method also differs from version management. Check the target skill and active version.
Can I share a skill with the workspace?
With appropriate access, choose Personal / Workspace / Organization scope. Scope does not remove app-connection or business-record permissions. Another person using the skill still works with their own role and accessible apps.
Where should I put a key required by a skill?
Use secret fields in skill permissions or the relevant app connection. Do not put the full key in instructions, sample input or chat. Inspect allowed apps/domains in details too; sharing a skill does not require sharing a plaintext secret.
