Provider billing
Subscriptions, API costs, usage and invoices.
Who pays for AI usage?
Era orchestrates your own AI sources alongside business tools. Connect a supported subscription or API key. Subscription and API accounts are separate sources, governed by the provider’s terms.
How do I read API costs?
API providers may charge by model, input/output volume and service. Compare usage recorded in Era with the provider invoice. Token counts alone do not establish the billed amount.
Why is there an API cost when I have a subscription?
A provider’s application subscription and API account are separate. Selecting an API key uses its API account. Check the selected provider and model in chat; holding a subscription does not change API billing.
Where can I inspect usage?
Check usage and provider connections in Settings. Where a provider reports quota and reset times, those can be displayed. Missing values do not mean unlimited use. Consult the provider account for billed amounts and remaining quota.
Why can a usage limit stop work?
Provider quota, API account balance, connection status and any job limits are separate controls. Read the stopping reason and check the chosen source and access. Choose deliberately if another connection is needed.
When does background work wait?
Brain and other background jobs need an eligible connected source. Work may wait when the source, quota or required desktop connection is unavailable. Check the available subscription or API connection and its permissions.
Where do I find my AI invoice?
Get subscription and API invoices from the provider account you use. When you connect your own key for images, video or voice, that service is also billed by its provider. Treat the Era workspace plan separately from AI usage.
Does changing my Era plan cancel my provider subscription?
The Era workspace plan and your provider subscription are separate services. Manage the subscription or API account with that provider. Disconnecting it from Era does not cancel the provider subscription.
