Does a workflow draft run automatically?
No. Review the draft in Workflows, check block inputs and recipients, then complete the appropriate deployment step. Era drafting a workflow does not mean it has started listening for events. A manual test and an active trigger differ.
What can trigger a workflow?
The canvas offers manual, module-event, schedule, webhook, app-event, chat and API triggers. Relevant modules must be enabled and declare their events. In a “Notify the owner on a new application” draft, configure recipients and conditions after choosing the event.
What should I check when installing a workflow template?
Review required answers and connections. Verify actual recipients, event mappings and accounts in the installed draft. Test before deployment; using a template does not unlock operations outside your role.
Which time zone does a scheduled workflow use?
Check the time zone on its schedule trigger explicitly. Time/repetition and overlap policy are separate settings. Changing regional business defaults need not rewrite a saved trigger; inspect the deployed schedule as well.
What happens when a trigger arrives before the previous run finishes?
Schedule overlap policy chooses Allow / Skip / Queue. Allow permits overlap, skip records a skipped tick, and queue waits until the earlier run finishes. For workflows that write externally, review this with recipients and duplicate effects in mind.
What should I do with a waiting workflow run?
Open run details and inspect the waiting block. A time wait differs from a human approval; with suitable access, approve, decline or cancel a waiting run. Starting another run does not resolve the wait and can duplicate work.
Whose permissions does a workflow use?
An event-listening canvas uses the deployer’s current permissions. A disabled module or lost access can cause an operation to be refused. Inspect access details and run output; creating a workflow does not create an unrestricted administrator account.
Should I immediately rerun a failed workflow?
Inspect the failed block output, connection and completed steps first. An earlier external write may have completed and a rerun can duplicate it. Idempotency keys reduce duplicate effects on applicable steps; do not assume all outside services were automatically rolled back.
